At last Monday’s SS Peter & Paul’s Church AGM, Ruth Empson, Sybil Farmer and David Murray were elected as Churchwardens, they will be officially admitted to the office of churchwarden at the archdeacon’s visitation. This will be held for Hodnet and Wem and Whitchurch deaneries at Christ Church, Little Drayton on the 8th June.
I am sure all will want to thank Chris Mellings for his time a churchwarden especially dealing with so many issues for us during the interregnum -

There will be service to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III at 09:45 in St Peter and St Paul’s Church Wem
The Friends of Whitchurch Road Cemetery are holding a volunteer event on Monday 8 May as part of 'The Big Help Out' initiative. Plus, the chapel will be open and there will be other little jobs to do. Just turn up and see what it is all about!

Church Flowers at St Peter and Paul’s Church
Quite a few people have kindly remarked “how nice it is to have flowers decorating the church for Easter”. We plan to continue with flower arrangements thro’ the coronation weekend, the summer and autumn. Anyone who would like to help with this should speak to me.
In the past people have kindly donated to the flower fund in memory of loved ones or the celebrate special anniversaries. If you would like to dedicate flowers for a particular date, please contact Sybil Farmer 01939 232568 or email syb.hbcwem@btinternet.com. Any donations should be given to Caroline Sinclair who is looking after the Flower Fund.
