Lee Brockhurst WI News

Our WI ladies enjoyed a lively Summer Beetle Drive at our July meeting instead of our proposed Summer Party and Games evening which had to be cancelled due to the inclement weather. Dawn Wickham, our Secretary was the triumphant winner!

A delightful June afternoon was spent at Clivewood Farm walking and feeding Alpacas, visiting their mill and weaving studio, being topped off with delicious cake and tea.

Our Sumer Stollers have enjoyed recent wanders through the hamlet of Tilley and Hadnall village, both being followed by a refreshing drink in their respective village pubs.

Afternoon tea and an amble around Hodnet Hall Gardens to admire their blooms was the venue for our eating out group.

After our Summer rest we will be reconvening again on Tuesday 19th September for our Lee Brockhurst Food and Produce Show, where our talented ladies will have the chance to display their cookery, craft and plant skills. Our speaker for this evening will be Graham Short, a micro-artist who has amazingly engraved The Lord’s Prayer on the head of a gold pin!

Our Crafty ladies meet up again on Tuesday 5th September 7.30pm, our Bookworms on Monday 11th September 7.30pm and our Summer Strollers on Tuesday 12th September at 7pm, which being our final walk will be rounded off with a hearty meal at a local hostelry!

We always welcome visitors to join in the fun and friendship at Lee Brockhurst; all meetings take place at Lee Brockhurst at 7.30 pm, unless otherwise stated.

If you would like to know more about our lively, friendly group then please contact Julie Woolfenden on 01939 200237 or jjwoolfenden@gmail.com who will be very happy to help.
